October 2025 Living OUTSTANDING Highlights & Reflections |
Welcome to the October edition of Living OUTSTANDING! October has been a season of connection, curiosity, and celebration. From playful discoveries that keep my mind sharp to gatherings that warm the heart, this month has reminded me how joy often hides in the details — whether it’s a friendly game, a thoughtful conversation, or a chance to celebrate someone special. In this issue, I’ll share the new game I’m Obsessed with and Updates from a rainy but joy-filled client event that left everyone smiling. A favorite kitchen Treasure proved its worth again, and I found myself immersed in feel-good stories on Sound & Stage. On the Tech front, I took a leap that’s already transforming how I manage my work. I’ll also share what I’m Anticipating as I pack my bags for the weekend, reflect on a flavorful Networking experience, and highlight an intriguing Discovery that deepened my understanding of community resources. My Inspiration came from a Leadership Akron day focused on education, while a Notable read offered unexpected insights into leadership through change. And as always, I’ll close with Gratitude — this month, for a humbling recognition that celebrates community service and connection. As the leaves continue to turn and we move toward the close of the year, may this edition inspire you to pause for reflection, savor the season, and celebrate the moments — big and small — that make life truly outstanding. I’d love to hear—what made your October outstanding? <Note: You may need to click "view entire message" at the bottom to read the whole thing... Outstanding is a long word:)> |

I’ve become obsessed with the new New York Times game “Pips.” It’s a fun, fast-paced puzzle where you place domino-style tiles on a grid. It’s just challenging enough to keep my mind sharp — and quick enough to play in just a few minutes. (I still love Sudoku, but that’s definitely more of a time commitment!) |

I just hosted my 2nd annual Fall Family Foto client and partner appreciation event at Shady Hollow Lodge. Despite the rain, we had a great time. A professional photographer captured beautiful shots of individuals, couples, and families (perfect timing for holiday cards), while inside we enjoyed games, a “make your own pie in a cup” bar, and a hot chocolate station. It’s one of my favorite ways to say thank you to my clients and referral partners. |

My Pampered Chef Insulated Serving Bowl and Cool & Serve Bowl were the unsung heroes of the pie bar at my event, keeping the puddings and pumpkin mousse perfectly cool. It’s amazing how well they work! |

I’ve been continuing my Apple TV adventures with my new subscription and have enjoyed watching Buccaneers and Ted Lasso. What should I watch next? |

I finally bit the bullet and upgraded to a paid ChatGPT subscription — and I’ve been diving into setting up “projects.” It’s still a work in progress, but it’s already helped me streamline my work. |

I’m heading to California this weekend for a quick trip to celebrate my brother’s 50th birthday! I can’t wait to spend time with family, soak up a little sunshine, and toast to this special milestone. |

This month’s Outstanding Ohio Networking event was at Brews & Blends in Macedonia — a hidden gem for healthy eats! Their protein-packed pumpkin waffle was so good it kept me full for hours. I loved meeting new people and reconnecting with familiar faces in such a warm, welcoming space. |

I recently met someone who works at the Summit County Land Bank, and our coffee chat turned into a fascinating deep dive into how they operate. I learned so much about their process and the creative ways they help revitalize local neighborhoods. |

This month’s Leadership Akron program day focused on Education. We toured several Akron Public Schools and met dedicated educators and incredible students whose stories moved me deeply. Akron is showing significant improvement and now has the best rating of any urban school district in the state. It was so cool to see and hear all about everything they're doing to support the students. I’m especially looking forward to meeting one of those students for coffee this week, who had a truly inspiring story and is thinking about a career in real estate. |

I had the pleasure of attending the book launch for From Crisis to Clarity by Rod Neuenschwander, co-founder of Gift-ology. After losing his best friend and business partner unexpectedly, Rod had to rebuild and refocus — and his story is a powerful reminder of resilience and leadership through change. Even though I didn’t pick it up out of personal crisis, I’ve found its lessons surprisingly relevant and encouraging. |

I’m so honored to have received the NOACC Bright Star Award for my service to the Copley Chamber of Commerce at a beautiful celebration at the Cleveland Zoo. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to serve and for the friendships, collaborations, and community connections that have come from this work. |
