Living OUTSTANDING

Highlights & Reflections

Welcome to the September edition of Living OUTSTANDING!

September has carried with it a spirit of change and renewal—the kind that comes with crisp mornings, new beginnings, and small joys that surprise us along the way. From the excitement of discovering fresh stories on screen to treasures in the kitchen, the month has been a mix of both comfort and inspiration.

In this issue, I’ll share my latest Obsession that’s kept me entertained, along with Updates on the homes currently awaiting their next owners. A practical Treasure found its way into my daily routine, while a moving Sounds & Stage performance stirred deep emotion. On the Tech side, I discovered a simple but powerful tool to bring more order to everyday life, and Anticipation builds for a networking tradition that promises connection and laughter.

This month also brought rich Networking opportunities and professional Discoveries that continue to sharpen my perspective. Inspiration came through a remarkable podcast conversation, and a Notable read pulled me into a story that was equal parts challenging and unforgettable. Finally, I’ll close with Gratitude—for the gift of old friendships that feel as though no time has passed at all.

As we step fully into fall, may this edition invite you to notice the beauty in transitions, embrace the lessons found in both the big and small moments, and hold close the people who make your life richer. I’d love to hear—what made your September outstanding?

This month I saw the musical The Notebook at Playhouse Square, and it absolutely blew me away. The acting, the music, the emotion—it was all incredible and so well done. By the final song, I was in tears. Truly an unforgettable performance!

I discovered a simple Gmail trick this month that makes managing subscriptions effortless. It lets you see all your subscriptions in one place and unsubscribe with a single click. A tiny tweak, but it feels like digital decluttering!

I’m so excited for the 2nd Annual Copley Chamber Bunco Speed Networking event on October 24th! This unique event at the Shaw JCC combines speed networking with a lively bunco tournament—no experience needed, just roll the dice and have fun. Between rotating tables, you’ll meet lots of new people while enjoying a hot cocoa/coffee bar, a chip/dip buffet, and desserts. Prizes, laughs, and connections are guaranteed! Space is limited, so grab your spot soon. All are invited, whether you're a Chamber member or not. (P.S. The first non-member to reply can come as my guest!)

I listened to an Ed Mylett podcast episode this month featuring Austin Hatch that was truly unforgettable. Despite unimaginable tragedy, Austin’s optimism and resilience shine through, reminding me of the power of perspective and hope. I listened to the podcast, but I'm guessing it will be even more inspiring to watch it on YouTube (link below).

Barnes & Noble’s display of the NYT Top 100 books of the 21st century inspired my next read. After striking out to find one of them on the Hoopla app, I discovered Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver on Libby, another free audiobook app through the library. The story follows a young boy growing up in Appalachia, navigating loss, resilience, and finding his place in the world. It’s long, but every chapter kept me captivated—listening turned out to be the perfect way to experience it.

This month, I was grateful for a weekend with my high school best friend. No matter how much time passes, we always reconnect as if no time has gone by. We capped off the weekend with breakfast with another friend. It was so great to catch up with both of them and have a relaxing weekend together.
